The Joy and Power of Resetting Over Summer Break

Summer break is more than just time off—it's a gift. A chance to reset physically, mentally, and spiritually. After pouring so much of ourselves into the school year, we sometimes forget how much we need to slow down and breathe again. This summer, I did something I’ve never done before: I took my first solo vacation. It was quiet, peaceful, and exactly what I needed. Just me, nature, and time to reflect.

Physically, I rested. I let my body slow down. No alarms, no rushing, just rest. And I realized how much my body had been carrying without me even noticing.

Mentally, I gave myself permission to unplug. I didn't have to plan or decide anything for anyone else. My mind had space to wander, to be still, and to clear out the clutter that builds up over time.

Spiritually, I reconnected. With God. With myself. With gratitude. There’s something powerful about stepping away from the noise and listening to what really matters.

Summer gives us the time to pause, reflect, and come back more grounded. If you’re feeling worn down or stretched thin, I can’t recommend it enough—find a way to reset. Whether it’s a walk in the sunshine, a quiet morning, or even your own solo getaway. It’s not a luxury. It’s necessary. And it’s worth it.
